The road to Saksun curved through fog and silence. The air was heavy with salt and rain, the kind that clings to skin and softens sound. When I reached the valley, the world seemed to pause — cliffs rising like walls, waterfalls threading down their faces, and in the middle of it all, a cluster of black farmhouses with turf roofs glistening with mist.
I stood by the stream that ran through the valley and watched how the water moved — patient, unhurried, tracing its way through the grass before disappearing into shadow. The farm seemed to grow out of that same rhythm, shaped by weather and time, by the quiet endurance of the landscape itself.
Part of my series Traces of Water, this piece is about that conversation between stillness and flow — how life, even in the remotest places, is carved by the paths water chooses. Limited to 25 per size, each artwork is hand-signed and numbered, crafted on museum-grade Hahnemühle Photo Rag, and accompanied by a certificate of authenticity.
